AFFECTED RANGE:

All 300 TDi diesel derivatives

PROBLEM:

COOLANT LEAKAGE FROM ENGINE - AUXILIARY MOUNTING BRACKET GASKET The customer complains of visual coolant loss and / or the need to replenish coolant.

CAUSE:

Seepage from the auxiliary mounting bracket to cylinder block joint due to deterioration of the gasket.

ACTION:

Where coolant loss is confirmed to originate from this location, replace the existing gasket with the new composite gasket and related parts detailed in PARTS INFORMATION . To replace the gasket, follow the repair procedure in the Defender Workshop Manual, repair number 26.50.04 , noting the following additional requirements:

• = Replace the three 120mm long bolts with the new specification bolts FC108247. = • = Replace the single 65mm long bolt with the new specification bolt FC108137. = • = Torque tighten all seven of the auxiliary mounting bracket to cylinder block fixings to the new figure of 30Nm.
