PROBLEM:

ENGINE OIL LEAK - OIL PRESSURE SWITCH

Engine oil leaking from the oil pressure switch diaphragm.

CAUSE:

Vehicles produced prior to the above VINs have been found to have oil pressure switches with incorrect specification diaphragm material.

ACTION:

Replace the oil pressure switch with the new switch detailed in PARTS INFORMATION

IMPORTANT NOTE: The new switch is packaged with both a copper washer and an ‘O’ ring seal.

Vehicles fitted with an ignition distributor require the new switch to be fitted with the copper washer.

Vehicles fitted with ‘quad pack’ ignition coils require the new switch to be fitted with the ‘O’ ring seal.

Tighten the switch to 14 to 16 Nm.
