DETAIL

Land Rover engineering will shortly be introducing a redesigned fuel injection pump support bracket together with fitting instructions, this is due to reports being received indicating timing belt wear.

Note: This bulletin supersedes bulletin 12/13/96 as the information in the parts/SRO/procedure sections have been amended

ACTION REQUIRED

When excessive timing belt wear has been identified, replace the fuel injection pump support bracket as detailed in the process below.

PARTS INFORMATION

ERR 6835 Fuel injection pump support bracket.

FS 108301 Fixing 2 off

ERR 1972 Timing belt tensioner

PROCEDURE

Refer to the workshop manual section 12.

1. Remove existing fuel injection pump support bracket. 2. Fit the new fuel injection pump support bracket (ERR 6835) with 2off fixing bolts (FS 108301) and torque to 22/28Nm. 3. Ensure that the sliding bushes come into contact with the fuel injection pump bracket. 4. Replace the timing belt tensioner. 5. Fit a new timing belt as per the workshop manual.
