DETAIL

We have received a small number of reports which indicate a fuel priming problem. Following investigations it has been found that the pump is overstroking, resulting in premature failure of the fuel lift pump. This can manifest itself in reduced performance or poor priming of the fuel pump when the fuel filter is changed or drained. To overcome this condition Land Rover engineering have introduced a modified lift pump gasket from the above Vin numbers to reduce the overstroking of the lift pump.

ACTION REQUIRED

Upon customer complaint that could indicate a fuel lift pump failure, fit a new lift pump with the revised gasket ERR 7339.

PROCEDURE

Once a lift pump failure has been established, replace the lift pump and gasket, refer to the workshop manual section 19
