Exhaust Mounting Rubbers - Adrift
MODEL
Defender 90 Tdi Derivatives
DETAIL
A number of instances have come to our attention regarding exhaust hanger rubbers coming adrift from the mounting bracket on Defender 90Tdi Diesel vehicles within the above Vin range. The exhaust hanger rubber bracket, on pass by noise exhaust, ( identified by a single silencer) may be replaced by a longer bracket, which can then be realigned to eliminate further concerns.
ACTION REQUIRED
Upon customer complaint of the exhaust rubbers coming adrift, on 90Tdi fitted with pass by noise exhaust, follow the procedure detailed below.
PARTS INFORMATION
ESR 2087 Longer exhaust hanger bracket
PROCEDURE
Replace the front exhaust hanger bracket for the longer type part number ESR 2087 ( see the illustration opposite). The bracket should be set at its minimum length, the exhaust system will then require both joints to be slackened off and re-aligned. Tighten all fixings to 22-28Nm
