AFFECTED RANGE:

All derivatives in VIN ranges: XA 900000 YA 200000 1A 700000 1A 700000

PROBLEM:

BRAKE NOISE / SQUEAL Brake noise from front or rear brakes when braking to a standstill.

CAUSE:

Brake disc resonance.

ACTION:

Where a complaint of the above is confirmed, establish whether the noise / squeal is coming from the front or rear brakes, replace the appropriate brake discs and brake pads. Refer to PARTS INFORMATION for the new specification brake disc part numbers. Refer to Workshop Manual, Brakes, repair number 70.12.10 for the front discs replacement procedure. Refer to Workshop Manual, Brakes, repair number 70.40.02 for the front brake pads replacement procedure. Refer to Workshop Manual, Brakes, repair number 70.12.33 for the rear discs replacement procedure. Refer to Workshop Manual, Brakes, repair number 70.40.10 for the rear brake pads replacement procedure. Ensure runout of the new brake discs is within specification 0.05mm. Check condition of flange, bearing and sensor assembly. Refer to Technical Bulletin 0007 for parts information.
