Centre Console Creak/Squeal

DETAIL

A number of reports have been received which identify a creak/squeak from the centre console / fascia area, Investigations have found that at the point where the centre console makes contact with the fascia, a squeak con sometimes be heard.

A fix has been developed, to fit anti-rattle tape between the two contacting

ACTION REQUIRED

Upon customer complaint of a creak/squeak from the centre console/fascia area and if the source of the noise is identified coming from the area where the console contacts the fascia follow the procedure below, please submit a product report

STC 3095 Anti-Rattle Tape

PROCEDURE

Refer to workshop manual section 76 centre console remove.

Slacken off the centre console, pull back the console to provide a small gap to insert the anti-rattle tape, Fit two strips of anti-rattle tape in position as shown in the illustration opposite.

Do not push the console hard against the fascia when re-fitting.
