Creaking/Squeaking Screen to Fascia

It as been noted that a small number of vehicles within the above Vin range may exhibit a creaking / squeaking from the windscreen/fascia area, this is due to a material contact between the forward edge of the fascia and the windscreen/bulkhead.

ACTION REQUIRED

Upon customer complaint of a creak/squeak from the windscreen to fascia, follow the procedure below. Please complete a product report and send to service through the normal channels

PARTS INFORMATION

STC 3096 Anti-Rattle Tape

PROCEDURE

Refer to the workshop manual section 76 Dash panel assembly

Slacken off the fascia and fit the anti-rattle tape STC 3096 along the fascia edge as shown in the illustration, when re-fitting the fascia ensure a gap exists between the fascia and the bulkhead.

Ensure the tape is applied in a manner that is cosmetically acceptable and cannot be seen from the driving position or when viewed through the front windscreen.

Care point: If air bags are fitted refer to the workshop manual before starting any work on the fascia
