Fascia Grab Handle Area - Delamination

DETAIL

A small number of reports have been received which indicate that the fascia skin is lifting/delaminating underneath the mat around the grab handle area, on non air bag vehicles. It appears that dealers are replacing fascia’s for this problem where a simple fix will overcome the concern. Land Rover engineers have developed a local fix which resolves this issue.

ACTION REQUIRED

Upon customer complaint of the fascia skin lifting/delamitating around the passenger grab handle area/under the mat on non air bag vehicles, secure the fascia skin following the procedure detailed below.

PARTS INFORMATION

DA610051L Self tapping screw 4 off

Loctite refer to bulletin 131/93 for supplier address

PROCEDURE

1. Remove the grab handle tray mat.

2. Drill 4 off 1/8” holes into the armature/grab handle tray were the skin is lifting (see illustration opposite). Care must be taken when breaking through the plastic armature. 3. Apply approved Loctite Super glue between the skin and armature, press the skin so that it lies flat.

Care must be taken using super glue products, take all safety precautions.

4. Fit the 4 off self tapping screws into the pre-drilled holes and secures, (see illustration opposite).

5. Replace grab handle tray mat
