DETAIL

A small number of vehicles within the above Vin range have been despatched from Land Rover that may have a notchy operation when closing the sunroof, Investigations have revealed that the sunroof gearbox drive may be slightly undersize, and the sunroof guide tubes oversize resulting in interference

ACTION REQUIRED

At pre-delivery inspection, or upon customer complaint of notchy operation on manual sunroof closure, follow the procedure below.

PARTS INFORMATION

Sunroof assembly BTR 8240

Sunroof gearbox BTR 8242

PROCEDURE

1) Where the sunroof exhibits a notchy operation on closure, the sunroof gearbox must be changed, (see the workshop manual section 76).

2) Check the sunroof operation, if still notchy the sunroof assembly must be changed together with the sunroof gearbox.

NOTE: The sunroof gearbox must be exchanged only when the sunroof has been moved to the fully closed position to keep the relative component positions correct.
