Rear Footwell Carpet Poor Fit
MODEL AFFECTED VEHICLES
Discovery All derivatives from LJ 081991 to LJ 087200
DETAIL
During manufacture it was noted that the rear footwell carpet on the left hand side in the area of the 'B' post had not been fitted correctly and vehicles built to this condition may have been depatched from Land Rover. To overcome this condition it was found that the carpet material required cutting to centralise the 'B' post carpet recess and repositioning which allows the carpet to fit snugly around the 'B' post.
ACTION REQUIRED
Upon customer complaint adjust the carpet following the procedure below.
PARTS INFORMATION
Loctite 495 Refer to bulletin131/93 for supplier information on Loctite.
PROCEDURE
1. Remove the left hand side front and rear tread strips. 2. Remove the left hand front seat belt anchorage. 3. Remove the 'B' post lower trim finisher. 4. Cut the carpet 10 mm from the recess at the front edge of the 'B' post to allow the carpet to move rearwards as shown in the illustration. 5. Reposition the carpet rearwards and glue to the NVH pad using Loctite 495. 6. Refit the remaining components.
