Rear Inward Facing Seat Rattle

DETAIL

A number of reports have been received which detail a rattle from the rear inward facing seats, on vehicles within the above Vin numbers. Investigations have shown that the rattle is emanating from the seat back supporting bracket.

To overcome this condition an additional flat washer has been introduced which fits between the wavy washer and the bolt head. This washer is being fitted by the supplier from the above Vin number, and will prevent any further rattles in this area.

ACTION REQUIRED

Upon customer complaint of a rattle emanating from the inward facing seats, fit the flat washer as described in the process below.

PROCEDURE

Refer to the workshop manual section 76 rear inward facing seats (seat and squab)

1. Remove the fixing bolts that attach the support brackets to the seat backs (see illustration), fit a flat washer part number 4478 between the head of the bolts and the wavy washer. 2. Refit the bolts and tighten.
