DETAIL

Vehicles fitted with the above factory installed radio/cassette unit can 'LOCK OUT' and cease to function if the security code is entered incorrectly three times. The lock out can take the form of the following:

1) The unit display shows the last entered code and will not clear or allow another code to be entered. 2) The unit will display 'SECURITY' and will not clear or allow another code to be entered.

Should either of the two conditions described above be experienced the procedure below must be followed to enable the correct code to be entered.

Discovery: PRC 9463/AMR 2194 Radio/cassette

Range Rover: PRC 9581/AMR 2385 Radio/cassette

PROCEDURE

To clear this function the radio/cassette must be left switched on with the vehicle ignition key in the auxiliary position. The unit should be left in this condition for one hour. After this period 'CODE IN' will appear on the display and the correct security code can be entered. The unit should now operate normally.

NOTE: Ensure the clear procedure has been followed precisely before replacing the unit. Radio units returned under warranty that can be cleared when tested will be rejected.
