DETAIL

A small number of vehicles may have been despatched from Land Rover that have insufficient clearance between the Diesel fuel return pipe (low pressure side) and body mounting within the engine compartment. From VIN LJ 081991 the fuel pipes were re-routed. To overcome any concern on vehicles that exhibit poor fuel pipe routing, the fuel feed and return pipes can be moved inboard and additional retaining clip added to secure both pipes.

Note: Please remove issue 1 of this bulletin and replace with issue two. The SRO number was incomplete.

ACTION REQUIRED

Upon customer complaint or if fuel pipes are in close proximity to the body mounting point follow the instructions below.

PARTS INFORMATION

AFU 1077 Universal clip JRC 7549 Protection strip (1 off)

PROCEDURE

1) Check the fuel return pipe for damage and replace as necessary. 2) Remove both feed and return fuel pipes from the chassis mounted retaining clip and move them inboard leaving the outer most pipe clip vacant.(See the illustration on the following page.) 3) Fit the universal retaining clip as close to the chassis mounted clip as possible and secure both the feed and return pipes in the clip. 4) Fit the edge protection strip to the bottom flanged edge of the body mounting bracket ensuring that the vertical protection strip already fitted, abuts the bottom protection strip..
