To improve poor ride quality and as part of continuous quality improvements new dampers have been introduced into production. The dampers contain revised specification oil which improves the wear characteristics and ride properties. The new dampers also provide for reduced axle vibration and improves roll rate.

Note: Dampers must be changed in complete axle or vehicle sets to obtain full benefit of the revised damper characteristics.

ACTION REQUIRED

Upon customer complaint of vehicle roll/poor ride quality or dampers leaking, replace the dampers in axle or vehicle sets.

PROCEDURE

Refer to the workshop manual sections 60/64.

Dampers should only be replaced in axle or vehicle sets.
