AFFECTED RANGE:

All 300 Tdi diesel with automatic transmission

PROBLEM:

TRANSMISSION OIL TEMPERATURE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED WHEN TOWING

When towing at maximum gross weight or in high ambient temperatures, the transmission oil temperature warning light is regularly illuminated.

CAUSE:

Inadequate cooling performance of the transmission oil cooler for towing under arduous conditions, (maximum gross weight / high ambient temperatures).

ACTION:

Where a customer complaint consistent with the problem described is identified, the higher performance oil cooler now available from Land Rover Parts can be fitted.

The new oil cooler, part number PFZ000010, has the cooling element increased in size from 4 rows to 6 rows and is completely interchangeable with the original cooler.

NOTE: PFZ000010 must only be used for complaint vehicles subjected to the arduous conditions described. The original transmission oil cooler ESR3228 remains available for all other requirements.
