Door Handle Linkage Adjustment

1.

Refer to the Workshop Manual, Section 76 and remove the door panel.

2.

Pull back the water curtain to expose the exterior handle assembly.

3.

Perform the adjustmerts in sections A and B below:

A.

Exterior Front Door Handle

1.

Release the retaining clip from the link rod on the exterior handle assembly figure 1).

2.

Turn the link rod clockwise to take up any operating slack between the exterior handle and the release latch (figure 1).

3.

Reinstall the link rod on the exterior handle assembly

4.

Operate the exterior handle very slowly and check that the latch is moving simultaneously.

5.

If the handle and latch do not move simultaneously, repeat steps 2through 5.

6.

After adjustment, check that the exterior handle opens the door slightly before the handle reaches the end of its travel.
