SITUATION:
CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS OF SQUEAKS AND RATTLES
Customer complaints about squeaks and raffles in Discovery vehicles are often difficult to diagnose and to eliminate. It is important to keep in mind that
the customer perceives squeaks and raffles as a quality issue. These concerns must be dealt with in a timely manner, even though they do not affect the
reliability of the vehicle.
RESOLUTION:
DIAGNOSE AND REPAIR SQUEAKS AND RATTLES
NOTE:
This procedure should be used in conjunction with previous bulletins for best results.
In order to properly diagnose squeak and raffle complaints, the technician must be able to identify the source(s) of the noises. The best way to do this is
for the technician to go with the customer while they duplicate the noises. Use the charts on the following pages to guide you in the pursuit of these
noises. The charts are broken down into six general categories as follows:

NOTE:
The repairs outlined in this TIB are to be performed to resolve customer complaint of the symptoms described.
