When using the remote hand set to lock the vehicle, the front door sill button on some Discovery models will bounce back to the unlock position. Should
a vehicle experience intermittent locking, the door lock actuator assembly may require adjustment within the door panel. If incorrectly adjusted, the
actuator will limit the travel of the plunger, causing sill button bounce.
ACTION REQUIRED
If front door sill button bounce is experienced, perform the repairs specified below.

PROCEDURE
NOTE:
Refer to the Workshop Manual, Section 76, for door panel removal procedure.
1.
Remove door panel and water curtain.
2.
Loosen all 4 retaining screws on the central door locking actuator (illustration).
3.
Insert the key into the door and turn to the unlock position.
4.
Note the height of the sill button by marking the sill-button-to-solenoid link rod (Illustration).
5.
Using the key, turn to the lock position and mark the height of the link rod as described in step 4 and shown in the illustration.
6.
Adjust the actuator until remote locking moves the rod to the same locations as the manual activation marks and tighten the 4 screws.
