Harmonic Balancer - Crankshaft Pulley: Service and Repair

Crankshaft Pulley

REMOVAL

1. Remove viscous coupling. 
2. Remove drive belt. See Drive belt
3. Raise vehicle on hoist.
4. Remove bell housing bottom cover.
5. Remove engine undertray.
6. With assistance to stop flywheel rotation, remove crankshaft pulley assembly retaining bolt.
7. Remove crankshaft pulley assembly.
8. If required: Place assembly in vice and remove pulley.

INSTALLATION

1. Install the pulley to the torsional vibration damper.
2. Lubricate the seal face of assembly.
3. Install the pulley assembly.
4. With assistance to stop flywheel rotation, Install the retaining bolt. Tighten to 280 Nm (206 ft. lbs.).
5. Reverse removal procedure 1 to 5.
