Engine Mount Deterioration

SITUATION:
EXCESSIVE ENGINE NOISE AND/OR VIBRATION DUE TO ENGINE MOUNT DETERIORATION
A customer may complain of excessive engine noise and/or vibration. Damaged front engine mounts may be the cause. Front engine mounts can
deteriorate due to their close proximity to hot exhaust manifolds.
RESOLUTION:
INSTALL HEAT SHIELD WHEN REPLACING ENGINE MOUNTS
When it is determined that deteriorated engine mounts are responsible for excessive engine noise/vibration, install new engine mount kits (KLO100000),
including heat shield (ANR6610) at each mount location.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
1.
Inspect front engine mounts for wear.
2.
Refer to WSM and remove worn or deteriorated engine mounts.
3.
Orient heat shield (ANR6610) over new engine mount (KKB103120) with the lowest flange facing the heat source (Figure 1).
