Front Crankshaft Seal: Service and Repair

Front Crankshaft Seal

REMOVAL

1. Remove crankshaft pulley.
2. Remove eight screws and remove mud excluder.
3. Fit button of 18G1328 to crankshaft, install the extractor to seal.
4. Turn center bolt of extractor to remove seal.
5. Remove seal from extractor.

INSTALLATION

1. Clean seal seating.
2. Lubricate outside diameter of seal.
3. Locate seal in front cover.
4. Install the adaptor 18G1291/5 to 18G1291/4.
5. Install the tool to seal.
6. Install the and tighten center bolt to crankshaft, tighten center locknut to seat seal.
7. Loosen locknut and remove tool.
8. Lubricate seal lip.
9. Install the mud excluder and tighten screws.

10. Install the crankshaft pulley assembly.
