DETAIL
During 1995, a small number of engines were built with an incorrectly case hardened crankshaft timing gear, which will result in premature wear of the
component. The crankshaft timing gear must be replaced at the 15,000 mile service interval on vehicles within the above VIN range.
Before replacing the timing gear on any vehicle within the above VIN ranges, please check the Vehicle Warranty / Recall Search screen on your Dealer
Communications System. If campaign H877 is not shown as an open campaign, do not replace the timing gear.
On completion of the work apply a red paint mark to the engine front lifting eye in order to clearly identify that the work has been completed.
ACTION REQUIRED
Replace the crankshaft timing gear at the 15,000 mile service interval. if the vehicle has over 15,000 miles, check for a campaign sticker. If the campaign
sticker is not present, complete the repair at the earliest opportunity.
