Accelerator Cable Adjustment Improvements

SITUATION:
POOR THROTTLE RESPONSE

A customer may complain of poor throttle response in a Range Rover or Discovery vehicle. The source of this problem may be that the accelerator cable
setting is lost due to slippage of the adjuster in the threaded region (see circle in illustration).

RESOLUTION:
REPLACE ACCELERATOR CABLE WITH NEW SPECIFICATION PART

A new accelerator cable has been developed with a modified design to prevent slippage. Replace old cable with new specification cable.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
REMOVE OLD THROTTLE CABLE

Remove the cotter pin from the clevis pin at the throttle linkage.
