NOTE:

Refer to the illustrated charts for important ground locations to be checked.

When the PAC unit beeps indicating the ground check is complete, press the "TOUCH TO STOP" icon.

Read the measured resistance on the display.

Acceptable resistance values for the ground circuits are:

^

0.00 to 0.05 ohms for ground circuits of low amperage (radio, lighting etc.)

^

0.00 to 0.10 ohms for ground circuits of high amperage (starter circuit etc.)

^

0.00 to 0.40 ohms for engine sensor ground circuits measured at the sensor

Procedure to obtain a good ground:

1.

Remove the fastener that holds ground wires to the vehicle.

2.

Inspect the post and nut or bolt for corrosion.

3.

If the mating surfaces or the post and nut are corroded, use a wire brush to clean them.

4.

If the surface where the eyelet contacts the vehicle is a painted surface, place a star washer between the painted surface and the eyelet.

5.

Replace the eyelet and tighten the nut or bolt to 6 to 7 Nm. (50 to 60 lb.in.).

Coat complete connection with anti-corrosion wax
