Exhaust Down Pipe Fixing Nuts New Part Introduction

DETAIL

A new nut for the manifold to down pipe joint has been introduced from the above VIN numbers. The new part has been introduced to eliminate
concerns of noise/leaks at the manifold joints,

Vehicles that exhibit exhaust leaks, loose or missing nuts can be rectified by removing the old nuts, and replacing with new.

ACTION REQUIRED

Upon customer complaint of an exhaust leak from this area or if identified during normal servicing replace gasket and nuts.

PARTS INFORMATION

Manifold nuts ESR 2033 are replaced by ERR 42456 required.

PROCEDURE

Before removing any nut spray the stud with penetrating oil.

Do not use an impact wrench to remove or tighten nuts. The studs could strip or break.

Before refilling new manifold to down pipe joint nuts, spray threads of stud and nut with an high temperature anti-seize compound or equivalent.

Refer to workshop manual section 30.

If the stud unscrews from the manifold during nut removal, for reassembly, carefully refit stud with old nut still attached.
