Install road wheel and tighten lug nuts to 126 Nm (93 lbf. ft.).

18.

Check axle fluid level and top up as necessary.

19.

Remove axle stands and lower vehicle.

On 1994-96 Discovery vehicles the rear stub axle oil seals may leak. The following procedure has been developed to replace the stub axle seal with an
improved design. If the stub axle seal is observed to be leaking, the stub axle seal on the opposite side of the axle must also be replaced.

The diagnostic steps and repair procedures detailed in this bulletin were developed as an element of the Land Rover Way OPERATION PRIDE. This
TIB provides a library location for PRIDE information within the Land Rover North America technical literature system.

ACTION REQUIRED

Upon customer complaint for the symptoms outlined, perform the specified repairs.
