Perform the diagnostic procedures and repairs outlined in this bulletin for the front hub seal replacement.

REMOVE REAR AXLE SEAL

1.

Place rear axle onto axle stands and remove road wheel.

2.

Remove brake hose clips and remove brake caliper bolts. Secure caliper to one side.

Take care to support caliper so that brake hose is not stressed or kinked. 

3.

Remove five bolts and remove axle shaft.

4.

Remove and discard gasket.

5.

Bend back lock washer tabs.

6.

Remove lock nut and lock washer.

7.

Remove hub adjusting nut.

8.

Remove spacing washer.

9.

Remove hub and brake disc assembly complete with bearings.

10.

Remove five bolts holding stub axle to axle housing.

11.

Remove mud shield.

12.

Remove stub axle and gasket. Discard gasket.
