SITUATION:
CHANGES TO HEATER ASSEMBLY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION PROCEDURES AND LABOR TIME

Land Rover engineering has studied the service procedures for removing and installing the heater assembly on Freelander models. Significant process
changes have been made to refine and improve the operation, which may now be carried out more efficiently and in less time. The change adds a step for
clamping the heater hoses so a cooling system drain and refill is no longer required.

NOTE:

The relevant Workshop Manual sections affected by these revised procedures will be updated at the next available opportunity.

RESOLUTION:
REMOVE AND INSTALL HEATER ASSEMBLY

Should it become necessary to remove a heater assembly on a Freelander, refer to the Service Procedure detailed in this Bulletin to remove and install a
heater assembly.

PARTS INFORMATION:

No parts required.

WARRANTY CLAIMS:

NOTE:

Superseded labor times for SRO 80.20.01 - "Replace heater housing" are as follows:

2002 - 2003 MY the old labor time of 3.30 hours is superseded by 2.40 hours.

^

2004 - 2005 MY the old labor time of 3.70 is superseded by 2.80 hours.

Repair procedures are under constant review, and therefore times are subject to change; those quoted here must be taken as guidance only. Always refer
to DDW to obtain the latest repair time.

DDW requires the use of causal part numbers. Labor only claims must show the causal part number with a quantity of zero.
