Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to

00)
2 .
Remove the RH exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve. For additional information, refer to
Exhaust
Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valve RH (17.45.17)
(Section 303-08)
3 .
Remove the RH exhaust manifold heat shield.
Remove the three retaining bolts.
4 .
Remove the two exhaust cross-over pipe retaining nuts.
5 .
WARNING: Do not work on or under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the
vehicle on safety stands.
Raise and support the vehicle.
6 .
Remove the remaining exhaust cross-over pipe retaining nut.
