The following procedure allows a fuel leak, indicated by the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL), to be accurately
located. The test must only be carried out once it has been established that there are no obvious faults with any of
the fuel system components.

WARNING: Do not work on or under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle on

safety stands.

Run the DMTL test.

Follow the on-screen prompts and force the DMTL to close.

WARNING: Do not smoke or carry lighted tobacco or open flame of any type when working on or near

any fuel related components. Highly flammable vapors are always present and may ignite. Failure to follow
these instructions may result in personal injury.

WARNING: Place the vehicle in a well ventilated, quarantined area and arrange ' No Smoking/Petrol

Fumes' signs about the vehicle.

CAUTION: Before disconnecting or removing components, ensure the area around the joint faces and

connections are clean. Plug open connections to prevent contamination.

Release the clip and disconnect the purge line.

Clean the component mating faces.
