Remove the windshield wiper arm.
NOTE:
Use the illustrations below for comparison purposes.

Visually inspect the windshield wiper arms and spindles.

Figure 1 is an example of a wiper arm which has been under-tightened. The arm has loosened and the splines of the spindle have worn away
the material of the arm.
