Fuse: Description and Operation

Fuse Details

Introduction

Fuses are mounted in one of two junction boxes. The Battery Junction Box (BJB) is located in the rear passenger side of the engine compartment. The
Central Junction Box (CJB) is located behind the passenger side of the instrument panel behind the glove box.

The BJB contains three different types of fuse:

1. Blade type fuse - Small, pull out, male terminal fuse, used to protect circuits from 5 A to 30 A. 
2. J-case fuse - Square shaped, pull out, female terminal fuse, used to protect circuits from 30 A to 60 A.

These are referred to as fusible links.

3. Bolt down fuse - Used to protect circuits from 30 A to 150 A (not used at present)

The CJB contains blade type fuses only.

WARNING: Contained within the CJB is the SRS fuse. The position of the fuse is highlighted in yellow on the layout label located on the junction box
cover.

The CJB has an integral control unit that replaces the Body Control Unit (BCU) found on other Land Rover vehicles.

Except for NAS vehicles, an additional fuse box is located in the LH rear of the luggage compartment. This fuse box is used to supply power to the
trailer socket.
