Automatic Side Mirror Dipping Feature

AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:

Land Rover LR3 (LA)

VIN: 5A300167 to 6A345257
Equipped with memory seats

CONDITION SUMMARY:

MIRROR DOES NOT RETURN TO SET POSITION

A customer may report a concern of the side mirrors intermittently not returning automatically to the set position after deselecting reverse gear.

Cause: 
A memory error within the driver's seat control module causes the loss of the last known position of the mirror glass. This is a software error that cannot
be rectified using WDS.

Action: 
Should a customer express concern regarding the above, refer to the Repair Procedure detailed in this bulletin to replace the control module with a new
module containing the software revision required.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

CONFIRM FEATURE IS ON VEHICLE AND REPLACE CONTROL MODULE

NOTE: 

Automatic mirror dipping is a feature unique to vehicles with driver's seat memory.

This is explained in the LR3 Owner's Handbook within the "Door Mirror" section.

For drivers of vehicles without driver's memory seats, confusion may arise as the Settings display appears to offer "Reverse Mirror Dip" as an available
option.
