DDW requires the use of casual part numbers. Labor only claims must show the causal part number with a quantity of zero.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

UPDATE ECM AND IF REQUIRED TCM SOFTWARE

CAUTION:

This procedure requires IDS DVD108 Patch File 1 software or later.

CAUTION:

A Midtronics PSC-550 Vehicle Power Supply must be connected to the vehicle battery during diagnosis.

1.

Connect the Midtronics PSC-550 power supply to the vehicle battery.

2.

Connect IDS to the vehicle and begin a new diagnostic session, by entering the correct VIN for the current vehicle.

3.

When prompted 'Do you wish to read diagnostic trouble codes?', select 'Yes'.

4.

Press 'tick' to continue and follow all on-screen instructions to complete this task.

5.

Select 'Vehicle Configuration' then 'Module Programming'.

6.

From the menu select 'Configure Existing Modules' and then select and run 'Engine Control Module'.

7.

Follow all on-screen instructions to complete this task.

8.

If the vehicle is in the later VIN ranges listed in the Affected Vehicle section, perform the following to update the TCM:

Select and run 'Transmission Control Module'.

Follow all on-screen instructions to complete this task.

9.

When the program update tasks are completed, exit the current session.

10.

Disconnect IDS and the battery charger/power supply.
