REPAIR PROCEDURE

REPAIR HEATED REAR SCREEN HEATER ELEMENTS

1. Attach the heat sensitive paper (supplied in the kit) to the inside surface of the rear screen heater element grid to ensure all bars are contacting the
paper. (Figure 1)

2. Turn the rear screen heater ON pattern to ascertain which heater element lines have failed.

Failed heater element lines can be identified by no apparent color change on the heat sensitive paper.

3. Make a note of the position of the point of failure on the heater line(s).

4. Turn the rear screen heater OFF

5. Remove the heat sensitive paper.

6. Locate the point of failure on the heater element line(s): (Figure 2)

If the failure point is close to the side of the glass, it may be necessary to remove interior trim from around the rear screen periphery.

7. Clean the glass in the localized area of the failure(s) using a suitable clean soft cloth.

8. Apply the Teflon(R) tape (supplied in kit) exactly to either side of the failed heater lines(s):

Each strip of tape should be approximately 60mm (2.35in) in length to protect the local area.

The tape should be firmly rubbed onto the glass surface using a soft cloth to ensure a seal to the glass (do not touch the glass with anything other
than a clean cloth after the area has been cleaned).
