Distributor Air Gap Adjustment

DETAIL

Following the introduction of the remote mounted ignition amplifer (refer to bulletin 86/13/94/EN) the distributor air gap is now less sensitive, which has enabled the distributor to become non adjustable. The distributor is clearly identified by a black insulating cover, this repalces the clear type presently fitted under the distributor cap.

From the above Vin number the air gap is now non adjustable .

NOTE: The air gap must not be adjusted, any attempt to do so will invalidate the Land Rover warranty, on this part.

No action required information only, please inform all workshop technicians.

PARTS INFORMATION

This information affects all V8 distributors with a black insulating cover only.

The new black insulating cover is not interchangable.

Old type distributors are still available for vehicles prior to the above Vin number.
