SERVICE ACTION - 1989 MODEL RANGE ROVER CENTER MUFFLER

To: ALL RANGE ROVER DEALERS

Distortion of the outer skin of the center muffler has been reported on some 1989 vehicles. While the problem is cosmetic, owners may suspect external
damage to the vehicle. To prevent the condition, please perform the following modification during the PDI or next service visit:

1.

Locate the embossed letters - T.I.C.S. - on the underside of the muffler.

2.

Mark and drill a 4 mm hole through the cross on the "T".
IMPORTANT: Drill ONLY through the outer covering, do not penetrate the inner skin. The use of a drill stop is recommended.

The affected VIN range is KA351847 - KA375759. Some vehicles in the range may have been previously modified, if so, no action is required.
