Wheel Speed Sensor: Service and Repair
Rear Wheel Speed Sensor

Rear Wheel Speed Sensor

Service Repair No - 70.65.31

Removal

1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the wheel and tire.
3. Release the wheel arch liner.

Remove the 5 screws.

4. Disconnect the rear wheel speed sensor electrical connector.

^

Open the electrical connector housing.

^

Release the electrical connector from the clip.

5. Remove the rear wheel speed sensor.

^

Release the wiring harness from the 5 clips.

^

Remove the bolt.

Installation

1. Install the rear wheel speed sensor.

^

Apply anti-seize compound to the ABS sensor.

^

Secure the wiring harness in the clips.

^

Tighten the bolt to 8 Nm (6 ft. lbs.).

2. Connect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector.

^

Secure the electrical connector clip.

^

Close the electrical connector housing.

3. Secure the wheel arch liner.

^

Tighten the screws.

4. Install the wheel and tire.

^

Tighten the wheel nuts to 140 Nm (103 ft. lbs.).

5. Using the approved Land Rover diagnostic system, clear the fault codes from the ABS ECU.
