Engine Oil: Service and Repair
Engine Oil Draining and Filling
Service Repair No - 12.60.05
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
WARNING: Do not work on or under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle on safety stands.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Remove the engine undershield.
4. Remove the radiator splash shield.
WARNING: Observe due care when draining engine oil as the oil can be very hot.
5. Remove the oil pan drain plug.

Position a container to collect the fluid.

Discard the oil pan drain plug seal.
6. Remove the engine oil filter.
^
Position a container to collect the fluid.
^
Discard the oil filter.
7. Install the engine oil filter.
^
Lubricate the oil filter seal with clean engine oil and tighten to 18 Nm (13 ft. lbs.).
8. Tighten the drain plug to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).

Install a new seal.
9. Install the radiator splash shield.
10. Install the engine undershield.
11. Fill the engine with oil.
12. Connect the battery ground cable.
13. Check and top-up the engine oil.
