Telecommunication System

Introduction

New Range Rover has the option to be supplied with a built in hands free telephone system. Both variants of in car entertainment (ICE) Systems
Multi-Function Display or Multi Information Display (MFD or MID) are capable of supporting telephone operation. There are two types of system
which are market dependant, these are:

NAS: based around the Motorola Time Port mobile phone

-

ROW: which is based around a portable phone which utilises a standard SIM card.

The systems differ in components and frequencies used, but the operation via the vehicle controls is the same.

NAS Telephone System

The NAS telephone system is based around a Motorola Time Port mobile phone. The System comprises the following components:

Motorola Time Port handset

Eject box

Control ECU

-

Antenna

-

Compensator

-

Hands free microphone

Motorola Time Port Handset

The Motorola Time port phone is a unique Land Rover mobile telephone. It is not possible to substitute a similar Motorola mobile phone for the Time
port phone.

The Time port is programed with an Electronic Serial Number (ESN) instead of use the european SIM card system.

Eject Box

The Eject box is located in the centre arm rest between the drivers and passengers seats.
