Fuel Pressure Release: Service and Repair
Fuel System - Depressurize
Service repair no - 19.50.02
Before disconnecting the battery, ensure all text and cautions in the battery disconnection procedure are observed.
Remove
1. Disconnect battery earth lead.
2. Remove engine acoustic cover.
3. Remove cap from schraeder valve on fuel rail.
WARNING: the spilling of fuel is unavoidable during this operation. Ensure that all necessary precautions are taken to prevent fire and
explosion.
4. Fit LRT-19-006 and hose to schraeder valve.
5. Open valve on LRT-19-006. Release fuel system pressure and allow fuel to drain into suitable container.
WARNING: Fuel vapor is highly flammable and in confined spaces is also explosive and toxic. Always have a fire extinguisher containing
foam, C02, gas or powder close at hand when handling or draining fuel.
Refit
1. Close valve on LRT-19-006.
2. Remove hose from LRT-19-006.
3. Remove tool LRT-19-006 from schraeder valve.
4. Fit cap to schraeder valve on fuel rail.
5. Remove container.
6. Dispose of fuel and clean container.
7. Fit engine acoustic cover.
8. Connect battery earth lead.
