When repairing a steering wheel for Radio/Cruise control switch malfunctions do not replace the entire steering wheel assembly, instead replace only the
Radio/Cruise switch set.

The malfunction is a manufacturing concern which is due to the internal membrane not making the necessary contact. The supplier has changed the
process of inspection to overcome this issue, and all switches are now checked for operation before being fitted into the steering wheel. The switches can
be obtained from LRNA, and therefore it is not necessary to replace the complete steering wheel assembly.

ACTION REQUIRED

At pre-delivery inspection or upon customer complaint of the radio remote switch inoperative, replace the Radio/Cruise switch set.

PROCEDURE

Refer to the workshop manual section 86 "Steering Wheel Mounted Switches."

The remote switches are available from LRNA, it is not necessary to replace the steering wheel assembly.
