Towing - Transporting With Electronic Air Suspension

Transporting Electronic Air Suspension Vehicles

This bulletin contains instructions for transporting Electronic Air Suspension (EAS) Range Rovers on flat bed or roll-back type vehicles. Please make
sure that those in your dealership involved with towing are made aware of this information.

Transport Procedures

If the Range Rover is to be secured using the frame mounted lashing eyes, it's suspension must be placed in the ACCESS mode and disabled BEFORE
being secured to the transporters deck.

1.

Start the vehicle's engine.

2.

Lower the vehicle into the ACCESS position (press in bottom button on console) then switch OFF the ignition. All doors must be closed for the
vehicle to move into the access position.

3.

Disconnect the black data link connector (DLC) plug located behind the right seat access cover.

4.

Place a warning card or note in the vehicle indicating that the DLC is disconnected.

5.

Secure the vehicle to the flat bed or roll-back deck.

6.

After transport, remove the tie downs, reconnect the DLC and check EAS function.

If the vehicle is to be secured using tire or wheel tie downs, use the following procedure:

1.

With the engine running, depress the INHIBIT switch (middle button) on the console and allow the vehicle to move to standard profile.

2.

Locate the DISABLE switch at the rear of the passenger seat and move the rocker to the "disable" position (see illustration).
