VIN LABEL NON-COMPLIANCE RECALL - D819 (USA), C819 (Canada)

The Rover Group Ltd. has determined that a non-compliance with a Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard exists on some 1993 model year Range
Rovers.

DESCRIPTION OF DEFECT

The Vehicle Identification Label located on the driver's side door has incorrect gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR), gross axle weight ratings (GAWR),
tire size, rim size and cold tire inflation pressure (rear only) information.

VEHICLES INVOLVED

1,082 1993 Range Rovers within VIN range ...PA6M23 to ... PA638670.

ACTION REQUIRED

Replace VIN label per the work procedure outlined in this bulletin. All vehicles sold by your dealership within the VIN range have a replacement label
enclosed.

CUSTOMER NOTIFICATION

A sample of the customer notification letter is included. Please note that it directs the Owner to the Selling dealer. Mailing will commence to Owners on
July 15, 1993.

WORK PROCEDURE

Inspect the VIN label on the driver's door to see that the GVWR reads 6019 LBS (2730 Kg) and that the recommended fire pressure reads 28 PSI (193
Kpa) front, 41 PSI (283 Kpa) rear. If not, replace the label as follows:

1.

Using a damp cloth, remove any dirt from the label and surrounding area.

2.

Heat the VIN label with a 1400 waft hot air gun for one minute. Taking care not to damage the paint, use a plastic scraper to remove the
label. Body filler spreaders and plastic windshield scrapers work well.

3.

Remove excess adhesive using mineral spirits or equivalent. Do not use a solvent that will damage the paint.

4.

Verify the new VIN label is correct and install such that the number faces the inner door panel.
