Windshield - Water Leaks

Bulletin: P93/76-001

Section: Product

Date: 2/25/93

Model: Range Rover

Applicable to: USA/CND

Subject:
WATER INGRESS - ALL RANGE ROVERS BEFORE VIN ... PA632520

The lip seal connecting the lower part of the windshield seal to the cowl panel serves to help prevent water from being forced past the seal and into the
vehicle.

When investigating water ingress complaints, especially where water is found in the well under the radio, check the fit of the windshield seal to the cowl
panel and caulk if needed using the work procedure below.

WORK PROCEDURE

^

Caulk both the wiper spindle seals and windshield lip seal if they have the overlapped appearance of "B" in the illustration. Seal in the area of the
overlap to give a smooth appearance.

^

Use black Sikaflex 221 caulk (see Service Bulletin G924W for supplier information).

^

Vehicles build since VIN ... PA632520 have relocated wiper spindle holes in the cowl panel. Please Product Report any vehicles beyond this VIN
with lip seal to wiper spindle seal overlap.
