One PROM has 28 pins and the other 32 pins.
1.
Make sure that the PROMs are oriented with the cutout towards the red connector and cutouts on the chip sockets.
2.
Take care not to damage PROM legs. Carefully install new PROMs.
3.
Check for bent pins before replacing PROM covers.
Do not overtighten circuit board screws
4.
Install circuit board and fasten with screws removed earlier. Torque to 2.25-2.82 Nm. (20-25 lb. in.).
5.
Replace outer cover and fasten with screws.
6.
Apply the supplied self-adhesive update label on the side of the ECM to signify that update has been done.
7.
Install ECM in box and reconnect wire harnesses.
NOTE:
Ensure that harness grommet is properly placed in ECM box.
8.
Install ECM, harness clamp and battery covers.
9.
Start vehicle and road test to assure proper engine operation and engine management system adaptation.
