If the vehicle is within the above VIN range and exhibits false front "door open" switch operation, check the latch date code on the affected door. If the
date code is less than 289, replace the latch. See Figure 1 for date code location.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

If the vehicle has a VIN between the above mentioned and the date code is less than 289 with any of the symptoms, replace the latch using the procedure
found in WSM section 76.
