DETAIL

Some vehicles exhibit an audible squeak from the rear ashtray when opening. Investigations have found the cause to be the ashtray bouncing off the
spring, and knocking at either side of the tray.

ACTION REQUIRED

Upon customer complaint of a rattle from the rear ash tray area, follow the procedure below.

PARTS INFORMATION

STC 3095 - Anti-Vibration Tape

PROCEDURE

1.

Open rear ash tray.

2.

Remove the two fixing screws and lift out of the console.

3.

Cut a strip of anti-vibration tape ensuring that the two surfaces shown in the illustration are covered.

4.

Note: The tape must be cut so that it cannot be seen when the ashtray is fitted into position.

5.

Refit the ashtray, check to see if the squeak is still present.
