Looking through the panel air door opening of the evaporator case, locate the vertical rib on the partition between the heater core area and the
panel door. Then, with a saw and a hot knife, cut and remove the partition between the vertical rib, the top of the case, and the dash panel side of
the case (Figure 12). DO NOT REMOVE THE VERTICAL RIB.
